THE TWO BROTHERS

I recorded this story for the Story A Week project initiated by Spin A Yarn. It is my solo telling of the story which I have previously shared in a bi-lingual tandem form with Grace Kalai playing the younger brother speaking in Tamil, which I devised for the Singapore Writers Festival in 2011

THE LOST NECKLACE (2) - a re-telling of a story I told for the 2016 World Storytelling Day, which I shared during a Worldwide Virtual Storytelling Guild story-swap on the theme of ‘Jewelry’ - the swap coincided with my 67th birthday (16/02/2020) though by the time I got to tell - Singapore being 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time - it was 1,45am on the 17th!)  The story is in my Stories for Values Education JUNIORS book

A people are as
healthy and confident as the stories they tell themselves.
Sick storytellers can make nations sick. Without stories we would go mad.
Life would lose
it’s moorings or orientation . . .

Stories can conquer fear, you know. They can make the heart larger.
